Tipping Bill protecting millions of workers receives Royal Assent

On 2 May 2023 the Employment (Allocation of Tips) Act 2023 received Royal Assent, protecting more than two million workers by making it unlawful for businesses to withhold tips from their employees. The measures are expected to come into force in 2024, following a consultation and secondary legislation with the official date of commencement being confirmed later this year.
